What is Perception?

Perception is one of our higher mental faculties, the others being Imagination, Intuition, Will, Memory and Reason. Our perception creates our reality. That is how we see the world around us. The most important of all is that our perceptions are formed by our Paradigm.

The great Mr. Bob Proctor, in his paradigm shift lesson talks about how our perception of life changes once we shift our paradigm. That’s absolutely true in my experience. He further goes on to say that Perception is our point of view. So there can be different points of view for a particular situation. For example if someone says something, they are speaking from their point of view, hence, they are not wrong but, they are right from their point of view.

When we change the way we look at something, the thing we look at also changes. Our whole world changes when our perception changes.

Look at the above picture. I would simply put it this way. Our perceptions can be compared to different people wearing differently coloured glasses and viewing the same scene/situation. Obviously, what each one of us views will be different. So, what is true for us is based on our view point and what is true for X, Y or Z is based on their view point. The important aspect is that everyone is right from their point of view!

When I say this is true for me, this may or may not be the same for you. You have to check it out, with faith based on right knowledge and understanding.

Do what your heart truly desires:

We can only be guided by what we know is right. If we are not sure about something, then the way is to get more clarity. We cannot be guided by what others might think or ‘what we think, they might think’. As we saw earlier, everyone has a paradigm and hence their own perception.
We may ask the question as to why they say the things they say or do what they do. Most of the time, most people don’t know the reason. It’s sort of on ‘Autopilot’ and that is the paradigm.

So the best thing for each one of us is to ask the question, “WHAT IS THAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO?”, get clarity on that and then go for it.
When you do what your heart truly desires, you are happy within and that definitely spreads all around you, like ‘The Ripple Effect’.
